In partnership with the Justice Parker Lee McDonald Law Library, the Highlands County Bar Association will celebrate Law Day 2023 on Thursday, April 27, 2023. This year's theme is: "Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility, and Collaboration."
Our local program will begin with a luncheon at the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church in Downtown Sebring with guest speaker Justice Jamie R. Grosshans of the Florida Supreme Court.
The luncheon program will also include recognition of the Janette Seamans Branham Memorial Scholarship recipient (see scholarship application here) as well as presentation of the J. David Langford Professionalism Award, Judge Clifton M. Kelly Award, and the Highlands County Bar Association Law Day Award.
The day's festivities will continue with the annual Highlands County Law Day Children's Program, where winners from our student essay and poster contests (see contest forms here) will be honored during a program starting at 3:45 PM at the Highlands County Government Center Boardroom, 600 S. Commerce Avenue in Sebring.
Advance registration for the luncheon program is required for all attendees no later than April 14th, so please register now for Highlands County’s Law Day 2023! Questions can be directed to Shannon L. Nash, Law Day Committee Chair, at 863-385-1549 or email@example.com.
